The object that I brought is a monkey's paw. It was found in Africa by an explorer. The paw is over 1000 years
old and is green in color. This paw was a very special object because it was found exactly on the equator. I now use
it as a good luck charm.
I was 6 years old when I walked into a dark store in Kamloops, B. C. and saw the little paw on a shelf. At fast I
thought that it was gross, but that was before I turned around and saw the head of a cow on the shelf right next to it.
I held the little paw in my hand and examand it closely, it was puke green and had claws. I looked for a price tag
but I could not see one. I went to the front counter which was made of bones and asked for a price. The man
grunted and pointed to a grimy little sign that said you name the price. I tossed a loonie on the counter and left. My
mom almost fainted at the sight of it and so did my brother, but my dad took a look at it and said that it was really
neat.
When I was 8 I wanted to find out more information on the strange green clawed paw. I found a website that
told me everything about it. It had been found exactly on the equator and was used for good luck by the Africain
tribes near the area. It was used over 1000 years ago and was kept in a temple and when one needed luck they
would walk to the temple then rub it. The temple was distroyed by another tribe and the paw was lost. In 1973 the
paw was found by an archiologist who had no clue how valuble it was and sold it to a junk shop. I thought of some
uses for the green paw and found one and that was to scare people with it. It did it countless times and it always
scared anyone.
The reason that this paw is so important to me is because not only is it a souvonier, it's also a treasure of mine. I
have many uses for it an April fools joke, a Halloween decoration and a good luck charm. The claws on it probably
also make an excellent back scracher but my claw is too special to use as a back scracher. It was the best souvonier
that I ever got.
That concludes my story of the green, clawed, ancient monkey paw. It still brings me good luck when I need it
and even when I don't need it. It's just like having a rabbits foot which I also happen to have.
